Our First Masterclass Workshop Event
One of our aims for 2022 was to create more events for industry creatives in our newly refurbed boutique film studio, The Treehouse. So, we are incredibly excited to announce our first Isaac Masterclass Workshop. Taking place at Isaac’s Treehouse Studio, the workshop is an on-set showcase experience for actors. With an action-packed, all-day session, you’ll have coaching and insight from industry professionals with a performance showcase at the end of the day. Read on to find out what’s involved, and don’t forget to book early as we have very limited availability.
Isaac Masterclass Workshop
You’ll play, devise, create, rehearse and film a scene in a purpose build set alongside professional actors, directors, and filmmakers. The day will culminate in a live performance filmed in front of an audience. Isaac’s team will take you through techniques, practical work, and some mind-bending games. Here’s what the day will look like.
Play
We’ll start the day with a bang to get the body ready for the day ahead. If you’re feeling sleepy when you arrive, we’ll soon wake you up. We’ve got games and warmers to start to get the body moving and the mind ready for creativity. With ice break challenges, you’ll get to know crew, facilitators and your fellow actors to start the day off on the right foot.
Devise
Now you’re raring to go; we’ll start the next session with an action packed brainstorming session. We’ll be helping you to device scenes that show off your skills but push you out of your comfort zone. Today, it is about taking the opportunity to be big and bold.
Create
Once we’ve got the idea of a lifetime, it’s time to plan the scene. First, we’ll write scripts for each scene, explaining in detail how to make them engaging, creative and geared to accentuate your talents. Then, with game-based techniques for both on-set and screen, you’ll put out your best performance yet.
Rehearse
Excellent performance comes from practice and honing your skills. You’ll practice your scenes with our coaches, who have decades of experience in the industry. Plus, you’ll have the chance to block and run your scene on the purpose-built set with the crew. This isn’t a case of just remembering your lines. Our facilitators will give you pointers and tips to improve your craft in the space of a few short hours. They’ve done it all before, so we are excited to see how they can help you grow.
Film
The big reveal. At the end of the day, you’ll showcase your scene in front of a live studio audience of your coaches and industry experts. The performances will be filmed under studio-quality conditions with full lighting and sound setup. After the event, each actor will receive an edited recording of the performance, perfect for sharing on social media and including in part of your showreel footage.
QA
In addition, they’ll be time at the end of the day for feedback and networking from the audience. You’ll have the chance to quiz facilitators and guests about your performance, tips on getting cast and any question you can think of about a life in the creative industry.
