Fantasy Short Film Production Original
We are super excited that we have sent our fantasy film, Lex Vitae, to several film festivals and hope to be featured. Devised in 2020 and filmed in 2021, the finished result is finally here and we couldn’t be prouder. A short film with an awesome cast, a tight-knit crew and a fantastic location to shoot in, we’ve created an incredible story for our fantasy world.

The Concept
Three siblings live trapped in a tradition as old as time, believing only two things in life are certain.
Opening in the cottage home of three siblings, two brothers and a sister scramble to get ready but for what? The father upstairs hacks as his cough worsens. The sister, the youngest, is bundled into a cupboard to hide. The eldest brother tells her, “Not a word now”. And the anticipation build. Through a crack in the cupboard door, we see a luminous green light shine upon the girl's face. We are told, this is the way.
A fantasy story where the genre isn’t quite what it seems, the story follows the character through a journey of emotional turmoil, morality, logic and uneasy questions. We look forward to showcasing it in several short film festivals this summer and autumn 2022.
Cast
Our cast line-up includes some of our favourite actors that we’ve worked with in the past. Each brought a fantastic energy to the project and helped to bring the story to light in all it’s glory.
Philip Hill-Pearson
Philip's career spans a long and impressive roster of British-made dramas from broadcasters such as the BBC, Netflix, ITV and Channel 4. Phil has starred in The North Water, United, The Bay, Common, The English Game and much more.
Harry Hepple
Harry has had a long and extensive career across both stage and screen. From award-winning BBC comedies such as Boy Meets Girl and Misfits to feature films directed by Mike Leigh like Peterloo. He has also recently been cast as King George in Hamilton at the West End.
Shiraz Haq
I am Nasrine, Shiraz has worked on a number of award-winning short films including Vera, Backseat Driver and Bafta Nominated Feature ' I am Nasrine' in 2012.
Charlotte McLellan
Charlotte's short yet impressive resume expands a plethora of short films, pilots, and international advert campaigns including for BT Sports. She was the star of our other original series, Hattie and she also holds a British Arrow Award.
Nina Golubovic
Lex Vitae is proud to introduce Nina Golubovic. It was quite a struggle to find our leading lady in the casting process. After many meetings, the team finally came across newcomer Nina and they soon fell in love with her raw performance and talent. It soon became clear the team could see no one better for the role. Lex Vitae will be Nina's screen debut.
The Crew
Our tight-knit crew was made of Isaac Who core team and regular collaborators, including Jonny, Rob and Rubi.
Jonny Dixon
Jonny is an accomplished actor, director and acting coach took the role of writer and director along with Rob. As you’ve probably read on our about us page, his acting career spans some of Britain’s most loved shows; Grange Hill, Coronation Street, Dr Who to name a few, as well as worked with companies such as the BBC, ITV, Pinewood Studios, Tiger Aspect and many more. Jonny worked as a facilitator, teacher and creative for some of Yorkshire’s leading acting schools and educational organisations. Having worked both sides of the camera, Jonny has the experience and the know-how to bring stories to life.
Robert Gerrard
Rob wrote and directed Lex Vitae alongside Jonny. For a number of years, Rob first began his career as an Assistant Director before gradually moving into production. As a Creative Producer, Rob has worked on both scripted dramas and commercial content for some of the biggest clients in the business. Some of his recent work has included producing commercials for the likes of Warner Brothers, Suzuki and Amazon, a series of music videos for Sony and he’s just produced an award-winning Bill Gates-funded drama. No job is too big and no story is too small.
Rubi Mae Joyce
Rubi took the role of producer on this set. Rubi’s background lies in Performing Arts with a particular emphasis on acting and dance, but it’s behind the scenes that now draws her attention. After working on some of ITV and BBC’s biggest productions (Peaky Blinders, Butterfly, Emmerdale), Rubi has seen every aspect of a TV production company and brings with her this great operational knowledge. Whether it’s navigating the logistics on and off the set, organising cast and crew behind the camera or anything else, Rubi will make your big idea a reality.
Aidan Metcalfe
Frequent collaborator Aidan was the DOP of this production. Cameraman and cinematographer based in Leeds, Yorkshire with 10+ years of experience working on a wide range of projects from broadcast television and corporate to commercials and music videos. Aidan is committed to using the best kit possible that has cinema/broadcast quality even for the smallest job. He’s worked on jobs from all parts of the industry including corporate videos and original production. With an eye for detail, his primary focus is on getting the ultimate shot.
Harry Geeves
The sound engineer for Lex Vitae for both onset and post. Harry's background is in music performance having learnt the violin from a young age. He graduated from the University of Leeds and The Conservatoire of Dijon with a first-class degree where, along with studying the violin, he specialised in electroacoustic composition. From this, he developed an interest in sound engineering and sound design and has worked with Isaac Who for several years as both a recording engineer and composer. His musical experience spans everything from Renaissance choral music to beat making and production.
